Welcome to Mindful Massage! The owner, Jessica Stoltz, is a licensed LMT who graduated from Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy. Her practice is based off of Mindfulness, where every session is planned for each client’s specific needs. Jessica's passion for helping clients feel relief from chronic pain, short term discomfort or simply to help them feel their best is what she loves most about being a LMT. What brought her to being a Massage Therapist was her love of massage and how big of an impact it has had on her with her own injuries . She loves the challenge of helping a variety of clients to reduce pain and improve mobility to ultimately improve each clients overall wellbeing.
A Deep Tissue/Tension Relief massage focuses on painful and tight areas to help relieve, and improve, the discomfort you are experiencing. While this isn’t a typical “fall asleep” massage, it should not painful either. Included techniques are trigger point and deep tissue therapy in combination with hot towel, hot stone and/or cupping. The client will be asked about the amount of pressure being used to make sure that the level of pressure is within the client’s comfort zone. If you have a painful or sore area, this is definitely a massage to consider!
Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massages. This technique promotes physical relaxation, stimulates nerve endings, improves circulation, improves flexibility and provides muscle tension relief. Clients are often super relaxed and fall asleep during a Swedish massage.
Enjoy an energy healing Reiki session to help promote emotional, physical, mental and spiritual healing. Reiki is known to have helped many to reduce stress and anxiety levels by balancing the bodies energy centers to reduce and remove blockages.
Chiropractic adjustments and massage, when paired together, can be beneficial to your wellness routine. If you are experiencing a flare up, adding massage before or after adjustments can not only help to shorten the amount of recovery time but also assist in helping you to feel a bit of immediate relief. Incorporating massage into your wellness plan can also help to extend the longevity of adjustments as it helps to loosen musculature before an adjustment. With that said, receiving massage anytime within a week of being adjusted, is said to be beneficial! If you want to get the most out of each adjustment, try pairing the two! To fit your needs, and meet your goals, there are several options available.
Athletes of all ages and those who excercise have noted the benefits of incorporating massage into their regime. Some benefits of receiving massage are increased joint mobility, increased flexibility, decreased muscle tension, decreased muscle spasms and much more. Receiving massage is also said to have helped with decreasing recovery time between workouts along with assisting in decreasing the chance of injury. Massage can also assist with delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). If you are an athlete, or excercise regularly, adding massage into your wellness routine could be very beneficial!
Stretching during a massage not only feels amazing, but assists in helping clients receive the full effects of the massage. When stretching is added into your massage regime, muscles are loosened more than they would be in a regular massage.
A LMTs thumbs, hands and elbows can only get so deep! Cupping is another tool that is utilized to help clients feel their best! Placing and suctioning cups over a client’s problem area helps to further loosen those deeper layers of tissue that LMTs can not easily access. Clients should automatically feel the benefits when incorporating cupping into their massage!
Hot stones are often used during a massage and can have a multitude of benefits. Whether being used to help relieve muscle tension or pain, improving circulation or assisting with melting away stress and anxiety, hot stones are a great option to add to any massage.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic relief. Oils such as lavender and eucalyptus are often diffused throughout each session to inhibit calmness and relaxation within the mind and body. When one is relaxed, more work can be completed and thus so are the benefits!
Essential oils are a highly concentrated plant extract where parts of the plants are distilled or pressed to develop essential oils. Essential oils typically contain several methods of application (inhaled, topical, ingested, etc.) and are often known to have theraputic benefits. During a massage, lavender and/or eucalyptus are generally diffused or applied topically with a carrier cream/oil to promote relaxation.
